The Botetourt Farmers Market has always been dedicated to providing fresh local food and agricultural products to our community. In times of uncertainty it's even more important to have access to locally produced food. The market has received guidance from the Virginia Farmers Market Association along with VDACS to ensure we are operating within standards and doing so in a safe manner for both customers and vendors.
If you are sick or have flu like symptoms, please stay at home. Cover all coughs & sneezes. Wash & sanitize hands frequently. As normal wash all produce before consumption.
We have reduced the market hours to 9am-noon.
The market will only have one entrance so we can more easily monitor the number of customers. There is no 10 person limit for open air markets at this time.
Vendors will be more spaced out with the required 6 feet in between vendors. We ask that only 1 person be at each vendor booth at a time. Please keep in mind you need to give others at least 6 feet space to maintain proper social distancing. We are strongly encouraging per-ordering of all items as possible.
We love the social aspects of the market but at this time we cannot congregate and talk in groups. We ask that customers get in and get out as quickly as possible.
You will not be able to touch items that are for sale. The vendor will be the only one bagging items for sale to reduce touch points. We encourage pre-ordering so you just have to come to the market to pick up what you have already ordered and paid for. Several of our vendors already have on-line purchase options (check out the Vendor page for more information)
We now have an on-line store available for pre-orders. Orders must be placed by the Thursday before market in order to pick up on Saturday.
